I have been a quilter for over 15 years now, inspired by my late Grandma Emma who spent many hours quilting and Tatting. My first ever quilt I made in honour of her and cut out each 2 ½ inch square of fabric with scissors, stitched each piece together by hand with needle and thread, then hand quilted it...I was 23. Tatting, the ancient art of Victorian lace making, she taught me at the age of 12. And although quilting has somewhat taken over my life, I still enjoy the art of Tatting now and again.
My local quilt guild, The Minnedosa Valley Piecemakers, made this Heritage Quilt for the yearly fundraising raffle. The quilt will be displayed in town until the winner is drawn at the Homecoming Celebrations this coming July.
I quilted it using the Rosie pattern, and now am thinking I should have taken a picture of the back of it as the pattern is just gorgeous!
